Highway 20

The Northern Cascades highway opens for Memorial Day weekend. I'll miss the holiday abroad but I get to drive through my sanctuary for the first time this year. And it's worth it. Although the east side of the Cascade Mountain range continues to be covered in snow making flooding an issue of paramount concern this year, the west side is a delirious tour of waterfalls. With paint still on my hands I greet the new spring growth.
